Humans are complex. And no two people are the same. When it comes to addressing mental health and emotional issues, ADHD, addiction, and Alzheimer’s and dementia, our team takes a holistic approach. That means treating the whole person as an individual–emotionally, physically, cognitively, and spiritually.

“The first thing we want to do is learn about a person,” says Dr. Laurie Ballew. “We want to get an idea of who they are. Have they lost who they are, and are they trying to get that back? We help them make a plan to get back on track.”

Getting back on track might involve therapy, medication or addressing underlying medical issues that may be causing emotional concerns. Each patient deserves an individualized treatment plan that suits who they are and targets the specific reasons for their problems.

“The team at Holistic Psychiatry is small but dedicated to helping each person be their best. We are trail guides in a way,” says Dr. Ballew, “and we discover paths that we think will be best for our patients to follow to get better. That may be one, two, or three paths. It depends on the person. Giving a pill to someone will not do it. Medication is one tool in the toolbox. It takes getting to know the person and really finding out their issues. That’s the kind of care everyone deserves.”

We offer counseling, medication management and an alternative to medication management, transcranial magnetic stimulation also called TMS.
